Jesus prepares his messengers for the results they will see when they faithfully proclaim his Word. Because Jesus calls people to a life of total commitment to him, this call will naturally bring division on earth. Some will follow Jesus’ call and others will not. Far from this being an indication of failure for his ministers, this division indicates that they are speaking Jesus’ words faithfully.
